An independent co-educational boarding and day school for children aged 4 to 13

Admissions Procedure

Overview

All applications for admission to Bilton Grange should be made to the Headmaster.  A pupil may be registered at any time after birth.  All ages are calculated as at 1st September.

The Pre-Prep department admits about 30 children per year into Reception in the September following their fourth birthday.

Children are also able to enter the school at other stages, depending on places being available.

Entry into the school at Year 4 and above will be subject to assessments in English and Maths. However, it should be emphasised that these assessments are regarded as an academic screening process and placement test, rather than a competitive exam.

Admissions process

In advance of registering their child at Bilton Grange, parents are advised to contact the Registrar to arrange a visit to the school, and, if appropriate, for the children joining after Reception, to have a taster day within the form they would join.

Should parents wish to then register their child, a registration form, together with a cheque for the £200 registration fee made payable to Bilton Grange Trust Ltd, should be sent to the Registrar.

Definite places are confirmed about two terms prior to the date of entry, or following the successful undertaking of the assessment for children entering at Year 4 or above. Parents who wish to secure the place will be invited to sign the acceptance form and pay a £500 deposit, which is refundable at the end of Year 8.

Many day pupils convert to boarding later in their time at Bilton Grange.  The School meets as many requests of this nature as it can, but parents are asked to give as much notice as possible.

Although every effort will be made to notify parents, please note that the School reserves the right to change the admissions procedure without notice at any time.
