Cubs A & B Saturday Match Report

The Cubs A dominated both possession and territory throughout their first match of the season and deservedly led 3 – 0 at half time thanks to a fine hat-trick from Matthew White. The Cubs A continued in the same vein after the interval and Matthew scored a further two goals within 5 minutes of the restart. Leading so comfortably, it was perhaps no surprise that we would slacken off a little, but a lesson has been learned as WH replied with two goals midway through the half. BG regained some of their earlier control and ran out worthy winners, 5 – 2.

The first fixture of the season for the Cubs B was a very enjoyable, evenly contested home match against Winchester House.  Our opponents had a bit more of the play, were a little more refined and scored midway through the first half to lead 0 -1 at the interval. William Hardman put in a couple of threatening balls right across the D and Archie Higgins was unfortunate not to get on the end of one of those. Although we had much of the second half possession and a number of chances, the result was probably a fair one. The final score was 0 – 1 to Winchester House.

Well done to all 14 Cubs who played very well.
