Ofsted visited Bilton Grange during June 2011 to inspect the boarding and welfare provision at the School.
In a thorough inspection, which involved spending time at Bilton Grange, interviewing parents, pupils, staff and governors, the Ofsted inspector concluded that "the school is outstanding.. Pastoral care is exceptional and threaded throughout the school, delivered by a dedicated staff team. "
The inspector goes on to say that "children are happy and do well... cared for in a warm, friendly and safe atmosphere." Other highlights of the inspection, which can be downloaded below, include:
- "Children's behaviour is exemplary throughout the school. Staff understand how to encourage good behaviour, which is actively rewarded"
- "A strength of this school is the outstanding range of activities made available to children offering them excitement, fun and opportunities. The school grounds and facilities provide for many on-site activities..."
- "The school has a sustained track record for delivering excellent outcomes for boarding children"
Headmaster Peter Kirk, commented;
"This is a fine achievement and, we believe, an excellent reflection of the boarding and welfare provision we provide at Bilton Grange. There is a dedicated staff team who work hard to provide the 'warm, friendly and safe atmosphere' the inspector found when she visited us. Perhaps the most meaningful aspect of this inspection is how highly the children spoke of their time at Bilton Grange - enjoying 'everything about the school'."
