As part of their Science topic ‘Plants and Animals in the Local Environment’, Year 2 went pond dipping in the Science Pond

The children enjoyed using pond dippers.

We put pond samples in tubs to investigate more closely the different kinds of creatures that exist in ponds.

Looking amongst the pondweed and lily pads, the children found many different creatures including tadpoles, water snails and water boatmen.
