Colts B and Under 10’s on the up and up!

After a 17-0 defeat at the hands of Laxton’s Colts A team, the BG Colts B bounced back to defeat Warwick’s Colts C team by 26 points to 5.  Team play was much in evidence throughout the game so the try-scorers, Andrew Carr, Oliver Trotter, David Bewicke-Copley, and Jack Eastwood had their team mates to thank for opportunities provided.

The front row of Ben Taylor, Kit Eastwood and Brett Graham gained ground at the rucks and mauls and scrummaged effectively.  Sam Green-Armytage, who converted 3 of the tries, was able to get his backs - Miles Porter, Will Jeffery and Jack Murphy - running on good lines as well as moving the tackle-line forward.  Saksun Young had an outstanding game at full-back, particularly as he made the right decisions to kick or run the ball.  Unfortunately, the game ended with Ben Taylor departing with a shoulder injury but the team can be proud of its performance.

On Wednesday, the Under 10’s defeated an inexperienced Coventry side, scoring 5 tries without reply.  Ed Wiltshire scored on his debut, jinking through the defensive line and other tries came from Bewicke-Copley, Kit Eastwood, Carr and Neil Taylor.  Tom Brindley had one disallowed as he was put through with a forward-pass.

We look forward to the forthcoming game at home to Winchester House.
