Colts B on top!

The Colts B produced another splendid team performance to overcome Maidwell Hall by 49 points to nil.  BG enjoyed a lot of possession in the first half but it took some time to break down a dogged Maidwell defence.  Eventually the pressure told and, with the Taylors punching holes in our hosts’ defence, David Bewicke-Copley was able to go over in the corner for the first of his two tries.  Further tries in the first half came from Miles Porter, Oliver Trotter, Andrew ‘one-sock’ Carr and Neil Taylor(to be confirmed) with Sam Green-Armytage converting all of them.

In the second half we probably played better Rugby than in the first with Brett Graham and Kit Eastwood working hard in the rucks.  Maidwell also upped their game, the refreshing half-time orange having presumably done the trick.  Jack Murphy, on our right wing, proved difficult to stop and nearly made it to the try-line with 3 boys hanging onto him but Neil Taylor(also to be confirmed as Ben will probably claim that it was him) was the beneficiary.  Jack Eastwood put in some strong tackles as Maidwell came back at us but after soaking up the pressure. David B-C put the finishing touches to a wonderful flowing move.
