Colts B v Akeley Wood

The B’s started slowly but eventually realised that a touch of aggression would bring its own rewards.  Shortly before half-time, Miles Porter managed to break through the competent Akeley defence to score and the conversion was added by Sam Green-Armytage.

In the second half, David Bewicke-Copley and William Jeffery made good ground, allowing Oliver Trotter and the Taylor brothers to clear their opponents out at the rucks.  Andrew Carr at scrum-half managed to find his fly-half consistently despite being under pressure from his immediate opponent.  Kit Eastwood covered more ground than most as he seemed to be able to set up a ruck and then miraculously be first to the next break-down.

Saksun Young kicked very intelligently, relieving pressure with his boot as well as running the ball out when space was afforded to him.  Wingers, Tom Brindley and Charles Ernest, did not see too much of the ball but each made their contribution before Ben Taylor powered his way over the line to complete a well-earned victory by 12 points to nil.
