Colts A v St. Hugh’s
Colts A v St Hugh’s Score 21-0
The Colts A got their season off to a good start by reversing the loss we had in the same fixture last season. St Hugh’s looked a little more organised than Bilton, as this was their second fixture, but some pace on the wing and some bruising tackling in mid-field meant that we managed to beat their defence while keeping them out. Charlie Bastable scored a brace of tries in the first half, and completed his hat-trick in the second.
The pack looked promising, with line-outs going well, and the scrums showed promise. The backs are brimming with pace and enthusiasm, but need to get a little more organised and to work a little more cohesively.
The team needs to put in some hard work before next week’s fixture against Wellingborough, but can feel satisfied with a good win.
