Promising Start for BG Netball
It was an afternoon of mixed blessings for the BG girl’s first netball match. It was the first time we had faced Kings High and they came with a big reputation for being a very strong sports school. They have many more girls to choose from so we knew that we had our work cut out for us!
The under 13”A”s got off to a flying start, leading by four goals after the first quarter. The “B”s had a struggle as we were a GA down due to illness and so some shuffling around caused initial unrest. The under 12”A”s showed promise from the off and the “B”s were demonstrating some great play also. All matches were of a very high standard but due to a few unfortunate falls in the notorious “Bambie” under 12’s teams we didn’t manage to display our full potential. The under 13 “B”s really struggled against such strong opposition but should not feel too despondent as they fought to the end; demonstrating true determination. The “A”s finished off in great style, scoring an amazing twelve goals in the last quarter. All in all a very promising start to the season!
