Bilton Grange 2nd XV v Akeley Wood 2nd XV 24th September ‘07
In a competitive match there were some notable performances by Bilton Grange. There was some fine individual play from, Tom Winterton, Charlie Smith, Oliver Robinson and Robbie Astin and some super team play too!
I was delighted by the cohesion between the forwards and backs, and although the ball was a little slow the opposition could not cope with the incisive back play. The kicking of conversions was most impressive by Oliver Vartan and, overall this was a very accomplished performance by the whole team. The substitutes who came on at half time; Sam Rose and Michael Varley did not look out of place at all and Varley used “great hands” to finish off a fine team move.
Overall a fine victory built on tenacious forward play and slick handling. Well done boys!
