2nd XI make amends
Bilton Grange 2 v 3 Winchester House
Winchester House were quickly out of the blocks from the first whistle. They passed the ball quickly and effectively through the Bilton Grange ranks. Bilton Grange used their only short corner of the game productively, opening the scoring. The 2nd XI executed a brilliant ‘Huddle’ move at the short corner which left Tom Winterton time and space to drill home a well taken goal. However this 1-0 score line flattered Bilton Grange and the 2-1 score line to Winchester House at half time was a fair reflection. After some strong words, Bilton Grange showed some heart and desire in the second half, taking the game to Winchester House. Unfortunately, as we were pressing for an equaliser, the visitors made it 3-1 on the counter-attack. The 2nd XI responded perfectly, a cross into the D leading to Tom Falkingham smashing the ball into the goal. 3-2 was the final score. Man of the match goes to goalie Richard Brumpton for some fantastic saves throughout the game. A special mention should go to Marcus Wong on his return to hockey from injury with a very good display of pace and skill.

Princethorpe College 2ndXI 0 v 8 Bilton Grange 2ndXI
An excellent display of hockey by Bilton Grange. From the first whistle Bilton Grange dominated the game, with short, sharp passes that the opposition could not handle. The 2nd XI stamped their authority on the game in the third minute with a tidy finish form Marcus Wong. Bilton Grange went into half time 4-0. The home team came out in the second half with a faster tempo which resulted in them keeping a bit more possession of the ball. The second half, however, was full of Bilton Grange dominance. The game finished 8-0 with Marcus Wong scoring 3 goals, both Dennis Kostyan and Kamil Walilay scoring 2 goals and captain Tom Falkingham scoring the last of the eight. Tom Winterton had a good game in his new found position at right wing, making a few assists. Man of the Match goes to Marcus Wong for a great performance capped off by his well earned hat-trick.
