Epiphanytide service
The fifth form celebrated the season of Epiphany with a Sunday Chapel Service that recalled the three themes of Epiphanytide, the visit of the Magi, Christ’s Baptism by John, and the first miracle, changing water into wine at the wedding in Cana. Through readings, prayers and the symbolism of processing gold (ingots supplied by MGT!), incense (lit and smoking!), myrrh, wine, and water, these themes were explored. Britten’s ‘New Year Carol’ was sung by the choir, as well as the plainsong antiphon ‘Vidi Aquam’ (I saw water). We were very pleased to welcome Mr Martin Morris, Headmaster of Kingham Hill School, as our preacher.
