WOW! Samson the strong

Every Lent term, Mogs and Wheels like to come up with an excuse of a 4 part series based on the same joke - sorry, I mean, based on the same Bible story. Part 1 opened with Mogs and Wheels competing in a battle of strength to see who should play the part of Samson the strong. First Mogs lost at arm wrestling, then the trial of finger strength and then finally he lost the boxing match when Wheels crashed a box down onto his head for a knockout blow. (Even if Wheels had not cheated, Mogs would have let him win anyway so that he could get to play a woman later in the story.)

Wheels’ celebrations soon stopped as he quickly came to realise that being given the powers of a super hero also meant accepting some responsiblity - including not eating raisins, not drinking beer and staying away from dead bodies (which means he can no longer go into the staff room - and not because they eaat a lot of raisins there). His super strength came to the fore as he took on a ferocious lion (though, sadly, the Headmaster was unavailable for the role). It was a tough fight, with the 2 of them going at it hammer and tongs. In the end, though, Samson won - he had the hammer!

And for the weeks ahead, there are still a number of key questions to answer? Which wig will Wheels wear next? Which dress will Mogs wear and when? What has happened to Vomitt? Of course, regulars will know that there’s no chance of getting any answers as Mogs and Wheels will just mess about as usual!

And finally, how do we know Samson was a great comedian? He brought the house down…
