Year 2 Help Santa

Wheels and Axels
Year 2 were given the task of designing a new vehicle for Santa, as his sleigh had not passed its MOT! The children had to research various types of vehicle, as well as looking at how wheels and axels work.
The children went through the different stages of the design process. Firstly, after the initial research, the children wrote a design brief, incorporating all of their ideas. Then the children drew their designs. Next, they created a tools and cutting list, identifying the different materials they will need. After that, they were let loose on the making! Using a wide range of materials, the children brought their design ideas to life. Finally, the children completed an evaluation of their vehicle, identifying what they liked, what went well and what they would change next time.
The children certainly had a lot of fun with this project!
