Golf Championships
Ten children took part in these Championships on Friday, competing for the Pell Cup (Junior Champion), Jackson Trophy (Senior Champion) and the Sinclair Cup (Section).
James Waterfield played consistently well and finished with a fine total of 40 Stableford points. He is the winner of the Pell Cup and as his score was higher than all senior entrants, he also takes the Jackson Trophy.
Second place was keenly contested by Robert Astin (24 points), Charlie Lockyer (25 points), Oliver Robinson (25 points) and Rory Bennett (27 points).
The Section Competition and Sinclair Cup was won by Wellington who were narrow winners with 56 points. Mountbatton came a very close second with 52 points, Churchill secured third place with 43 points and Nelson scored a creditable 27 points from their two entrants.
Thank you from all concerned, to Gareth, our greenkeeper, who prepared the course for the event; he has kept the course in super condition this term.
Well done to all the competitors who tried hard, gave their best and played the game in the right spirit.
