BG Cubs succeed in the sun
An enthusiastic BG Cubs XI had their second fixture of the term, playing a pairs game against Milton Keynes. Captain for the day, Anthony Kefalas, won the toss and elected to field. After all the wet weather, it was perhaps understandable that the bowlers took a while to find their line but Ben Rose, Alexander Stasinski and Drew Thwaites all produced a number of good balls, each bowling out one of the opposition. Alexandre Musy, Ed Wiltshire and Michael Warriner all had their moments and there was some solid fielding too, restricting the visitors to just 242. Each pair then had 3 overs to make their mark, with Drew, Josh Harrison and Alexandre looking the pick of the batsmen. In spite of some over-ambitious running between the wickets costing us 4 runs outs, BG were helped by a succession of wides and no balls, leaving them with a comfortable victory by 23 runs.
