2nds triumph at Trent
Trent College 2nd XI 1 v 3 Bilton Grange 2nd XI
A great result for the 2nd XI against a very good Trent side. Trent started the better team, passing the ball quickly and putting Bilton Grange on the back foot. The first goal was scored by Trent early on after continuous pressure. The visitors responded well, putting together several good passages of play. The 2nd XI were rewarded for their extra effort with Kamil Walilay equalising from a tight angle. The second half was more evenly contested and was heading for a 1-1 draw with 4 minutes to go. However, Charlie Bastable took the game to Trent with some fine skills, scoring the second goal and winning a penalty flick for the team when he was brought down in the D. Tom Falkingham stepped up to take the penalty, slotting it precisely through the goalie’s legs. Richard Brumpton deserves a mention for some fine saves throughout the game to keep his team in contention. Man of the Match however goes to debutant Charlie Bastable for a brilliant and spirited display.
