Gurdwara visit

Ladies cover their heads with scarfs
During our topic on ‘Special Places’ we have been identifying how religious buildings reflect the feelings of worshippers and discussing the ways in which a religious building is special. We were able to compare a Gurdwara to a Chapel or Church. On our visit we observed the: Nishan Sahib (flag), Manji Sahib (where the Guru Granth Sahib rests), seating on the carpet, the space for the musicians, or ‘Ragis’, the symbolic 5 Ks and illustrations of the Gurus. We found out how they are special in the Sikh religion.
