High 5 for the Boys’ 1st XI

BG 1st XI  5  Bromsgrove 1st XI  0

In the final scheduled fixture of the season, the 1st XI dominated from start to finish.  In goal, Callum Grier managed to touch the ball once as every Bromsgrove attack was quickly extinguished by Robbie Astin, James Webb, Luca Illien and Will Richards.  First half goals came from James Walker, Henry Bletsoe and Ben Barwell as wave upon wave of BG attacks flooded the Bromsgrove half.

The second half brought further goals for Walker and Barwell but it was the performance of the team as a unit that really caught the eye.  Oliver Robinson, on the left wing, combined very effectively with Roddy Giles on the left side of mid-field in order to give us a useful alternative to attacking from the right.  Charles Hurley was again exceptional at the hub of the team, giving Henry Bletsoe and others the time and opportunities to purvey their skills.  This really was an exceptional performance and sets the side up well for its visit to the IAPS 7-a-side Championships at Millfield on Friday.

The final tally is Played 11  Won 9  Drawn 1  Lost 1.  Many congratulations to the whole squad on a very successful season.
