An action packed Sunday for the boarders
It has been an action packed weekend for the boarders with many travelling all around the country whilst undertaking different sporting activities. Some travelled to Wales with Mr Greenwood for the weekend as part of an adventure training group, some travelled (with success) to Malvern for a cricket tournament while others went to Repton for an annual tennis competition. Those that remained were able to enjoy the sunshine after the recent poor weather by playing football and croquet in the morning. After lunch, 16 boarders went to Quarry Park, near Leamington Spa, for a round of disc golf (photos can be found in the gallery area of the website). They were all taught how to throw the discs and had an opportunity to practise although this was not always evident during the round as many were hunting through trees and bushes or climbing over fences in order to retrieve their discs that had gone astray. However, all of them thoroughly enjoyed themselves even if it was with the can crusher that they discovered after having refreshments at the end. As a treat, they were shown some of the various discs used to play the game and all were amazed at the distance and accuracy of them as they were given the demonstration by the owner Derek Robins.
On arrival back at school, they attended the Evening Service before finding time to have a swim before going to bed.
