Spellbinding performance in Solihull

Macbeth at Solihull
Thursday 2nd October
Once again Bilton Grange actors were treading the boards of a professional theatre as they performed Macbeth as one of the 500 schools taking part in the Shakespeare Schools Festival. The 23 cast members gave a “powerful performance of physical theatre” as they staged an energetic 30 minute piece set around an army camp. Robbie Astin gave an assured and confident performance as Macbeth, whilst the scheming Lady Macbeth was sensitively portrayed by Hannah Brindley. The sinewy movements of the weird sisters added to the macabre whilst the strong ensemble created a rich and vibrant backdrop to the unfolding events.
Director, Ian Morris was delighted with the performance, “The children have done brilliantly and it’s just been amazing to watch the transformation in only three and a half weeks. I am very proud of each of them”
Plans are now afoot to perform the piece at other local venues which will give the cast the opportunity of tasting life of a professional actor on the road.
