Too Close For Comfort!
The matches on Tuesday at Princethorpe and Wednesday at home proved a little too close for comfort! The senior girls played all four teams at Princethorpe. The girls were not their usual confident selves and this showed in their play. The games were scrappy on occasions with flashes of brilliance. The Under 13’s defended well but struggled to get the ball into the shooting circle. The Under 12’s became a little panicky and their footwork suffered. Luckily after a little talk at half time the girls managed to settle and produced much more solid games. We had some close shaves but ended successfully on four wins.
Twycross at home proved a lot stronger than in previous years. Our senior B’s took them on and started off quite well but after the first quarter we started playing their game rather than our own. This brought the scores very close, far too close! After a few change arounds in the sides the girls started to pull things back and the Under 13’s opened up the score difference. The girls have made some unforced errors that they realised themselves and corrected in the final quarter which gave them a good victory in the end. The Under 12’s managed a draw but all girls took away food for thought. No more close shaves in the future please girls; let’s show Kineton what we can really do next week!
