Colts B. Cricket at Bromsgrove.

Our first match of the season was a 12 a side pairs game away to Bromsgrove, with each team starting off with a score of 200.

BG started off quite well in the field restricting Bromsgrove to 275 for 8 in their 24 overs. There was some good fielding from Drew Thwaites at mid on and Harry Smith on the fine leg boundary and one run out. James Eggleston got better as the game went on, in his first attempt at keeping wicket. All the bowlers performed quite well with not too many wides or no-balls, Hugo Swaby taking 2 for 18, Thomas Jenkins 2 for 12, Edward Bebbington 2 for 21 with a fine return catch off his own bowling and Harry Smith 1 for 6 off 1 over.

With the help of wides and no-balls our boys managed a quite respectable 257 for 8 in reply to Bromsgrove’s score. Some good efforts with the bat came from Swaby, Jenkins and Bebbington,

All in all this was a good display from the boys, for their first match of the season.
