Netball vs Winchester House

With tension building, we set off for Winchester House with a mixture of anxiety and excitement. We knew we would be facing our biggest test of the season and so it proved.  The A team girls got off to a good start scoring from the first centre pass and Winchester looking slightly on the back foot.  Both matches soon became physical, competitive affairs with some excellent attacking moves displayed by both teams.  Under unstinting pressure, the U11 girls began to make basic mistakes, dropping balls and sending sloppy passes which meant moves were breaking down in the final third of the court. However, credit where credit is due, the defending displayed by Winchester House was top drawer. Despite the scores – U11A losing 13-4 and the Bs 12-2, they were tremendously enjoyable matches, played in good (battling) spirit with some excellent talent on show.  Valuable lessons were learnt - especially that we must speed up our defensive reactions and retain our composure- all things that I hope will be taken into our next match against Stoneygate.
