2nd XV maintain momentum

This was a much tougher and closer match and the result was in doubt right up to the end. The crucial difference was the strong tackling which kept the opposition at bay.

BG started where the left off against St Hughs’s with strong aggressive running and might have scored more than one try in the early minutes. Eventually Daniel Spencer scored with a strong solo effort under the posts with D Young converting. That was the score at half time and when Wellingborough came out with renewed vigour things were not looking to safe. However, a quick thinking tap penalty from Dylan Churchill and excellent support from Jack Murphy led to a try by Jack. D Young again converted. Wellingborough then scored a rather soft try from a penalty to set up a tense finish, but BG held out for a very good win.
