2nd March 2016
The Lent Informal Concert took place on Tuesday 1 March in the beautiful Pugin Library, with a good number of pupils taking part and accompanying duties shared by Miss Sellar and Mr Penrose. An appreciative audience commented on the range of instruments and the high standard of playing. It was lovely to have some younger pupils listening; parents reported that these siblings were inspired by the concert.
The School’s new rosewood xylophone had its first outing, played by Haochen Li in 5th Form, who has been having orchestral percussion lessons since December. We are most grateful to the Neville-Plevins Trust for funding the purchase of the xylophone, and look forward to hearing it frequently in the future.
All of the participants can be proud of their performances, which reflected the excellent work done in lessons with instrumental teachers.
The next big event on the horizon is the Lent Term Concert, where all ensembles will showcase what they have been working on this term. All are welcome, and we look forward to seeing a large audience on Wednesday 23 March in the Ravenscroft.
