The Brownies and Guides are working towards their World Guiding badge. In this badge they have to find out about Guiding around the world, which linked very well their Thinking Day celebrations. Thinking Day celebrates the birthday of Robert Baden-Powell, the Guide and Scout movement’s founder, and on this day they remember all those in the Guiding and Scouting movement around the world hence the name ‘Thinking Day’.
Katherine Hancock, who runs the Overslade units, came to their meeting to share her uniforms, camp blankets which were covered in badges from all sorts of places and her experiences of being a Guide overseas in places such as Hong Kong. The girls then went on to recreate uniforms from different parts of the world on miniature people.
