With the new term barely begun, musical learners of all stripes ventured to Rugby School on Tuesday 6 September to hear Michael Griffin, an Australian researcher and educator, talk about how to achieve success in musical performance. The presentation covered a range of fascinating scientific evidence and practical strategies to help pupils practise successfully. Pupils have since been inspired to randomise their practice, to find patterns in music to reduce the learning load, and to practise more slowly.
At Bilton Grange, we recognise that success comes through hard work and enjoyment; encouraging every child to practise regularly and effectively is a core part of our strategy for the musical development of the School.
Thank you to Rugby School for hosting Michael Griffin and inviting us to participate in staff training and the pupil presentation.
