9th November 2016
It is with immense gratitude for all that he has done that on Friday 4th October we said farewell to Jeremy Greenhalgh who has been Chairman of Bilton Grange Trust for 13 years and a Governor for 10 years before that. During his many years with the School Jeremy has presided over numerous changes including the building of both the Ken Waydelin Hockey Pitch and more recently our new School car park, which have had a big impact on the School. The leadership and support that Jeremy has offered Bilton Grange has been immense and we are very grateful to him and his wife Meriel for the time they have given us.
Jeremey’s successor, Charles Barwell OBE, is an Old Biltonian (1979-1981) and already well known to many parents and pupils having been on our Board of Governors since 2014. A Private Banker with Barclays, Charles was Deputy Chairman of the CBSO Board and led the international search for the CBSO’s new Music Director, and in 2012 was awarded an OBE for voluntary political service. He was for 12 years a governor of an inner-city girls’ school and is a member of the Advisory Board of Malvern College. He spoke passionately about BG at last summer’s Prize Giving, is attending our Bilton Lecture on 17th November and is looking forward to spending more time at the School as part of his new role.
