22nd November 2016
Our U11A rugby team competed in the district section of the Prep Schools Rugby Tournament at Wellingborough School on Sunday 20th November. Displaying excellent team play and quality of core rugby skills the team started the day with a 35-0 victory over local competition from Crackley Hall. Playing teams from all over the district was a good opportunity to test ourselves against schools we do not normally compete against. Against a very strong Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School from Wakefield, both teams battled hard to find the winning try but the final result was a justified 5-5 draw. Against Eversfield School, we took the lead through good handling and team play although in a very close game the score was levelled to finish the game 5-5. Our two draws meant that these three teams could not be separated by their win / draw ratio and as such all proceeded to represent the district in the national finals. It was a great result for Bilton Grange and to compete at the national finals will be an excellent opportunity for the boys to test their skills further against our Southern district winners. Come on the Midlands and Bilton Grange!
