The School’s annual Carol Service was held on the afternoon of Friday 9 December in the beautiful Rugby School Chapel. The Senior Chapel Choir were in fine voice, leading the congregational singing with confidence and delivering some very moving performances, notably of Bob Chilcott’s ‘Mid-Winter’. Special mention must go to the two soloists: Isaac took the first verse of ‘Once in Royal’, and Zachary the first verse of ‘See Amid the Winter’s Snow’. The Year 3 and Junior Choir, led by Mrs Kath Watson and sensitively accompanied by Miss Ruth Sellar on piano, sang with excellent clarity and expression, and the Junior Chapel Choir, led by Mr David Noble, showcased wonderful legato singing and two of their own fine soloists. The readers were exceptionally well-prepared by Mrs Jo Scanlon, and added the final touch of magic to the service.
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for this inspiring community event; it was the perfect way to end a busy term and put everybody in the Christmas spirit.
