Mr Tovey is new Head of Boarding

19th July 2017

We are delighted to announce that Mr Tovey will begin his new role as Assistant Head (Boarding) in September 2017. With 16 years at Bilton Grange, latterly as Head of Design Technology (DT) and Head of Upper School, Mr Tovey is excited to begin focusing on our Boarding community.

Born and brought up in a boarding preparatory school in Bristol, where his father was the Headmaster for 40 years, you could say that boarding is in Mr Tovey’s blood! A boarder himself from an early age, he fully understands the emotions that our young boarders face as they enter a new environment.

Mr Tovey will be joined by his wife Clare, who will support him behind the scenes as she has her own full time career, and his 3 children Xander, Lyra and Sennen ; all attend Bilton Grange and the Montessori nursery.

Working with Mr Tovey are Mandy Wilkin and Sue Howkins, our residential Head Matrons and Miss Rosie Bird a Year 4 Tutor, as well as the wider boarding matronal and tutor support network.

With 3 children, Mr Tovey doesn’t have much spare time but in the holidays he and his family love to spend time at their house in Devon. He is also a keen surfer and enjoys skiing.
