Why did you choose BG?

Initially we looked at BG due to the schools excellent reputation and our daughter had attended the Montessori. We were extremely impressed whilst on the tour of the school with the head teacher and teaching staff that were very welcoming, gave a good insight into what life is like at BG and that the most important aspect for children at BG was being happy.  It was clear that BG was dedicated to ensuring that not only were the children part of BG Family, but this extended to the Parents.  Whist on the school tour, it was noticeable at how well behaved and respectful all the BG children were. The facilities are amazing from the beautiful gardens and well stocked Pugin Library to the modern astro turf hockey pitch.

Why do you think BG is so special?

We were a little apprehensive about our daughter integrating into a new school, especially as she had not attended Reception at BG. However, we had no reason for concern as her transition into the school was seamless.  We felt that the success of this transition was down to a planned approach with the teaching staff welcoming her and ensuring that she was “buddied” with another child as part of her induction to BG; smaller class sizes have enabled more focus on her learning, which has supported her academic progress and this success has given her more confidence to develop and reach her potential; we feel that the values of the school mirror our home values – good partnership, there is an overall family atmosphere at the school.

How is BG helping your child?

She has grown in confidence in her academic ability. She has started to proactively ask to complete her homework!!  She has formed some lovely friendships and has been involved social events outside school hours.  We have noticed that her behaviour has improved and she has matured.  Overall, we are very impressed with the progress she has made in the first 2 months of being at BG and the support that she has received from her teacher and the school in moving her forward in all aspects.

If you could sum up BG in a sentence, what would you say?

An outstanding school in terms of broad curriculum, excellent teaching staff and resources, positive values that intrinsically link to behaviours and the belief in treating children as individuals in order that they have a happy learning experience at BG.

What advice would you give to prospective parents?

Try BG, you won’t be disappointed with the results (Academic and socially)

Why did you choose BG?

I was educated at Homefield and have wonderful memories of my time there. I always knew that was the school I wanted my child to attend.

Why do you think BG is so special?

BG is a very special place. It has a warm, caring, nurturing environment and a real family feel. The breadth of curriculum and opportunities for children to try and discover new skills, facilitated by the School setting and extensive grounds, is unique. The happiness and confidence of the children at BG speaks for itself.

How is BG helping your child?

BG is, and will continue to, enable my child to grow, develop and flourish academically. The small class sizes mean he receives attention at all levels and doesn’t feel ‘lost in the crowd.’ This in turn builds confidence and self-esteem.

If you could sum up BG in a sentence, what would you say?

BG is, and certainly becomes, a way of life for both child and parent.

What advice would you give to prospective parents?

Speak to as many people as you can prior to decision making. Attend as many open days as possible, speak to the Headmaster, teachers, pupils and current parents. Attend open days with ‘an open mind’ and dismiss any pre-conceived ideas you may have.
