FINANCE MANAGER

This post is Monday to Friday, ideally 8.00am to 5.00pm
You will be responsible for all financial accounting and reporting for Bilton Grange Trust Ltd.  Working for the Bursar we are looking for an individual who will support the senior leadership team and budget holders to manage expenditure throughout the school year, as well as providing budget predictions and planning for subsequent years.  You will be responsible to the Headmaster, through the Bursar, for financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, auditing and other financial control activities, ensuring that these are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice.  The post holder will have a high degree of autonomy and manage a team of two.

Previous experience of working in a school is desirable but not essential.  Applicants may either be part qualified in accounting or qualified by experience and have a proven track record.  Good computer skills are essential and a sound knowledge of Sage 50 is desirable; experience of iSAMS is an advantage.  The role requires the successful candidate to demonstrate an understanding of financial processes with analytical and organisational skills and the requisite attention to detail.  The role will require a degree of flexibility in order to support the smooth running of the Bursary office.  A calm and diplomatic manner is another key requirement.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT

An opportunity has arisen for a graduate, who is perhaps considering a career in primary teaching, to work for a year in our Pre-Prep department which comprises Reception to Year 3. The role will encompass providing support in the classroom, helping to look after a form pastorally and at the beginnings and ends of the day, helping out with duties at break times and, if desired, a small amount of supported teaching. Candidates with interests and strengths in and extra-curricular areas such as drama, sport, outdoor pursuits and music would be particularly encouraged to apply. It may be possible for the right candidate to extend the contract into a second year with a PGCE programme supported by the school. Single accommodation may be available in return for assistance with boarding duties including some weekend working.
