BG is the only UK venue for the global Kids’ Lit Quiz Heat and National Final

Bilton Grange hosted more than 20 teams for the Kids’ Lit Quiz Heat and National Final for the UK last week.

Pupils impressed with their exceptional knowledge of literature, battling through 100 questions for a place in the National Final. Gresham’s Prep School secured both first and third place in the Heat, with Arden Academy finishing second. King’s College Wimbledon, Beaudesert Park, International School Aberdeen, Aldwickbury, and Uplands Academy also qualified for the National Final.

It was a fiercely competitive event, with just five marks separating fourth place from fifteenth. The Bilton Grange teams performed commendably throughout, regularly placing in the top eight, but ultimately fell just short – finishing only three marks outside the qualification places.

The competition intensified in the National Final, where speed became crucial as all questions were answered on the buzzer. What followed was an epic contest between the top two teams from the Heat. In the end, Arden Academy emerged victorious by just two points and will now go on to represent the UK at the Global Final in New Zealand this July.
