Scholars World Cup Success

Over last Sunday and Monday, twelve pupils travelled to St. Teresa’s School in Effingham, Surrey, to compete in the World Scholar’s Cup for the first time. The event was well attended with over forty teams and more than 120 students taking part. Based on a broad and stretching curriculum, it consisted of four events: team debating, collaborative writing, team quiz and an individual quiz.

Our teams performed strongly – finishing third, eleventh, fourteenth and sixteenth overall, managing to win nine out of twelve debates in the process. On an individual level, Elijah came third in the individual quiz, Daniel was named third best debater, Jemima and William were involved in the debate showcase after a strong showing in the earlier rounds and Poppy was the second highest scoring pupil overall.

It was a tremendous couple of days and all can be proud of their efforts.
