New boarding house reaches milestone moment
Bilton Grange’s new boarding house construction reached a significant milestone last week celebrated with a ‘topping out’ ceremony.
A traditional building rite, ‘topping out’ is when a structure reaches its maximum height, which for the new boarding house, was the top concrete section of the roof.
Staff were able to enter the structure for the first time and get a real feel for the building space – including the spot for the much anticipated ‘helter skelter’ style slide that will transport pupils from top to bottom.
Bilton Grange Head Master, Gareth Jones, toasted the ‘topping out’ moment along with Tom Wakeford, Stepnell Managing Director, the company responsible for creating the state-of-the-art boarding house.
The modern, family-style boarding house will feature cosy, en-suite rooms as well as a cinema space and hubs for games and music. Find out more at www.biltongrange.co.uk/boarding or join us for our 5 October Open Day.
