A Day At Prep
After a hearty breakfast for the boarders, a Bilton Grange day always starts with a morning Form time with the Tutor where pupils can listen to the ‘Daily Bulletin’ outlining the day ahead and prepare themselves for their lessons.
Most days operate five one-hour lessons as well as a study period in the middle of the day for independent work, catch-up, reading and numeracy.
After lessons, on each day of the week all pupils will go to Games or Activities. Traditionally, match days for Years 5-8 are on Wednesday and Saturdays and Thursdays for Years 3-4. Parents are very welcome to come to match days and support on the touchlines as well as enjoy post match ‘Parents’ Tea’.
After Games and Activities, day-children may choose to go home to do their prep (homework) but all pupils can stay to do prep at school, with staff supporting where required. At the end of prep, we run an Options programme for boarders and day pupils which includes a range of different clubs which pupils can choose to join.
Supper is provided for boarders and day pupils, after which all day pupils go home and the boarders return to their boarding house.
