FAQs

Where is The Nest?

The Nest is part of the Pre-Prep and is set within the Pre-Prep building. Whilst the majority of their learning takes place in their classroom, the Nest children also access the Pre-Prep hall, the library, the art room and the music room. Children in The Nest do a large amount of their learning outdoors, in our 90 acres of woodland and parkland and love Outdoor Learning in our Wild Gardens.

Do children wear uniform?

Yes, there is an Early Years uniform for children in Reception and The Nest. Full uniform lists can be found here. Please note that Uniform is not required for those children who are attending for Early Education Funded Hours only.

What does the structure of the day look like?

Morning sessions start at 8.20am and end at 12.30pm and include a mid-morning snack, lunch and a specialist taught activity. Each day will include an element of enhanced provision such as Outdoor Learning, Create Club, Rhythm Time, or Sports Stars. Afternoon sessions start at 12.30pm and finish at 3.30pm. We are as flexible as possible in meeting the needs of families, so please do come and talk to us. We ask that children do a minimum of four sessions per week.

Please note that The Nest is open during Bilton Grange term time only.

What is on the lunch menu and where will they eat?

The Nest eat lunch in the Little Dining room, adjacent to the Pre-Prep hall. Lunch is catered ‘in-house’ by our catering team and we can meet most dietary requirements. Our chefs take great care to ensure that your child’s dietary and nutritional needs are met and to ensure that no child ever goes hungry.

Where do the children play during break times?

The Nest children love their free-flow access to their own secure all-weather play area. They also play regularly on the bikes and trikes on the hard court, and on the climbing frames and swings in the Pre-Prep playground. There is also a playhouse, boat and train that The Nest children love!

Can I use childcare vouchers and claim Early Education Funding?

Yes, all children at the Nest above the age of 3 will be eligible to claim up to 15 hours of funded childcare and a limited number of ‘funded hours only’ places are available. We also accept tax-free childcare vouchers. More information on fees and vouchers can be found on the fees guide and from the Bursary. Please do contact our Registrar by telephone or email for further information.
