Friends at Bilton Grange (FAB)

FAB is an informal and voluntary committee of parents from all year groups across the school. All parents can be part of FAB and we hope that everyone feel welcome to participate in any way – from helping out at book fairs, digging in the Organic Garden, creating flyers for events or just socialising at FAB events.

FAB Committee members act as a point of contact for the other parents in their year groups. In particular, they provide a warm welcome to parents who are new to the school. Committee members also liaise with staff, present and past pupils and local residents and businesses. They play an important role within the life of the school and within the local community.

Events

The FAB organises events throughout the school year. These range from social gatherings for parents and fun events for the children, to fundraising events benefiting either local charities or special projects designed to enhance the children’s education and all-round experience at the school.

Events arranged by The FAB include large annual events such as the school Advent Fair, the Christmas Ball, and the Summer Fair and BBQ, as well as smaller gatherings like quiz nights, pimms and croquet evenings, charity coffee mornings and cake sales.

The year group representatives on the Friends Committee also arrange informal get-togethers from time to time for the parents in their year groups.

As well as these FAB-run initiatives, some Bilton Grange parents offer or participate in many other activities open to our community at various times during the school year. These include the famous Faders Dads’ Hockey and Cricket teams and the Friday morning parental tennis lessons as well as the Headmaster’s Bacon Butties on a Saturday morning in the school dining hall.
Parents across the school play an important role in school life, and there are many opportunities to be involved, or just to enjoy the social network that being a parent at Bilton Grange brings!
